Oct 23, 2009 Another treat found at the "Aomori Fest" last weekend. Looks clear and colorless. A hint of white paste, apricots and alcohol in the nose. Fennel, Jelly beans, light alcohol flavor but the warmth of the alcohol exceeds the initial flavor, not in a bad way, a bit surprising actually. I don’t recall having a sake with this variety of rice, that must be the interesting & unfamiliar flavor. It is nice and a change of pace from the Nishiki rice.
Has a aromatic quality to it, not quite like Jasmine rice, but certainly different.
