| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 2, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of Doboy. Light amber pour and a medium, evanescent off white head. Very faint caramel aroma, non existent hop presence. Flavors of toffee, sweet grain, and a thin, fading bitterness at the finish. Medium body, light carbonation, palate feels thin, washed out. This tastes more like a so-so amber ale than an Oktoberfest, no robustness, uninspiring. CelticBrew (696), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Compliments of doboy, (Thanks Ed!!), pours a light brown from 12 oz bottle, forms medium size white foamy head. Aroma of the usual marzen type beers, malts, caramel and slight hops. Flavour much of the same, malts prevail, however the beer is extremely drinkable and not offensive. Comes across a bit sweet into a balanced bitterness. Really not that bad. rayOfBeer (319), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Poured from bottle a clear orangish-brown with a medium off-white head that faded quickly. Aroma is lagerish with some toast and hay added to a little bit of sweetness. The flavor starts agreeable enough with some caramel, bread, dust, and malt tones but then moves to a rather harsh bitterness at the finish. Palate is malty with some initial sweetness turning bitter. Overall, ok for the price but others are better. robforbes (1099), Bremerton, Washington, USA

smell of grain, malt, corn.
taste is oily yet tingles the tongue, sweet malt, caramel, earthy, dry leaves, some dandelions, ends thick in the mouth and just a tad bitter.
overall i didnt know that it was gordon biersch and now i understand why it wasnt as good as your average oktoberfest. JK (2961), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2008 $1 from trader joes. Light malt. Crisp palate for the style. Some bread and cracker flavor. An ok beer, at least the price is right. Not bad for what it is. LtDan (516), LA - Originally from South NJ!, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 1, 2008 Not sure if this was tended to more than last year, but I was really impressed with this. Beautiful body and head, nice aroma, and a full bodied full flavored session. I think this is drinking better than tried and true Sam Octoberfest as of September 2008. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 28, 2008 Thanks to JK. Gold color with no head. Light grain aroma and taste. Not quite that rotten silo level, but definitely not the clean or fresh taste. Simple, unoffensive. Skyview (4057), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 28, 2008 Sampled from 12-oz bottle and shared by JK. Pours a clear light amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt with a touch of flowery hops and honey. Taste is medium bodied, with a semi-sweet caramel malt and honey flavor. Finish is a little gritty with a fast disappearing malt aftertaste. A little thin for a typical octoberfest but still drinkable.
