Panzuriel (960), Westerville, Ohio, USA Jan 15, 2007 fizzy light copper liquid with a persistent head of small cream bubbles. Nose is thin and a little malty, sharp and maybe somewhat metallic. Very thin lagerish type taste. not much malts or real hops. sorta adjuncty. body is thin but not too thin. decent beer. not really an oktoberfest in my opinion.
fidel (208), Livermore, California, USA Oct 10, 2008 Orange amber, roasted malts, caramel, bready, little honey, light hop finish. RunDWP (179), San Jose, California, USA Oct 4, 2008 12 oz Bottle. Slight roasted, caramel aroma. Pours a burnt amber with a slight head, that dissipated in a couple minutes, with some lacing and sheeting on the glass. Flavor of roasted malt, some caramel, and a tobacco note. Had a slightly unpleasent bitter after-taste. Not bad, just not real good either. SamGamgee (591), Santa Cruz, California, USA Oct 4, 2008 12oz bottle. Amber-orange body with a pretty tight head. Metallic, malty, and sweet aroma. The flavor has caramel and toffee, with some papery notes and very light hops. Medium bodied and a touch sticky. A bit too much sweetness isn’t quite countered by the modest hopping. I don’t think i could drink a whole liter of this. DrBayern (977), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Oct 2, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of Doboy. Light amber pour and a medium, evanescent off white head. Very faint caramel aroma, non existent hop presence. Flavors of toffee, sweet grain, and a thin, fading bitterness at the finish. Medium body, light carbonation, palate feels thin, washed out. This tastes more like a so-so amber ale than an Oktoberfest, no robustness, uninspiring. CelticBrew (504), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Sep 28, 2008 Compliments of doboy, (Thanks Ed!!), pours a light brown from 12 oz bottle, forms medium size white foamy head. Aroma of the usual marzen type beers, malts, caramel and slight hops. Flavour much of the same, malts prevail, however the beer is extremely drinkable and not offensive. Comes across a bit sweet into a balanced bitterness. Really not that bad.
