THis style isn’t as well known as it should be and I do agree that if this was an import people would be rating it higher. A good drink! JK (2952), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Trader Joes. This is surprisingly good. Lacing head. Moderate carbonation and a gold colored beer. There is yeast and malt. Llightly hopped. Pretty solid, all considered. Good palate. sethdude (601), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 31, 2009 A nice Kolsch, underrated here IMO. Pours golden, thin white head and light lacing. Aroma is semi-sweet, malty with lots of hop pepper. Flavor is initially pale malts, a peppery hop note, a mild lemony note, bready warmth, and a bitter snap from the hops into a slightly spicy finish. Crisp, clean, and refreshing. I love this style, and this is a good example. Probably underrated due to the brand, which is unfortunate. illinismitty (1797), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 29, 2009 Bottle from Trader Joes. Pours golden with a dissipating white head, not much carbonation bubbles. Pleasant aroma of lemonade, fruity esters, and light grains. Light bodied and refreshing with no wateriness. Flavor of biscuit and citrus countered by a tame spicy bitterness. Crisp finish with just a very small hint of clove. A little bold for a Kolsch, but this is actually a very nice and drinkable beer, and a value at 5.99. I would bet that many people would score this higher in a blind taste test. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 13, 2009 Appearance: Pours a bright, clear yellow gold. Starts with a 1/4 inch of white foam, that later subsides to a pinstripe of white. A very modest amount of carbonation is visable in the body.
Aroma: Honey and corn sweetness, a little bit of fruit bouquet.
Taste: Bready malt, fruit sweetness (melon, apples, pears). Finishes with some nice crisp hoppiness.
Mouthfeel: Crisp, refreshing.
Overall: Quite a nice Kolsch-style beer. Lots of flavor, which I didn’t imagine finding, based upon the goal of this beer. vyvvy (2043), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Pours light golden with a white soapy head. The aroma has grainy pale malt, smooth malt that is pils-like, some dough and mild spicy hops. Medium crisp body with graininess and lightly harsh carbonation. The flavor starts with the aroma traits, but with more spice and is more hoppy and phenolic. The finish is fairly clean, but has a touch of butter. A decent kolsch.
