From tap at the brewpub. Pours almost clear deep amber golden with a fully gone head. Aroma is vague toffee butterish. Toffee malty flavoured, mild sweetness and downplayed roasted note. A bit flat malty finish with a persisting caramel toffee note. Vague bitterness.

On tap at the JT Schmids Brew Pub located in Anaheim, CA. Poured a deeper amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel with some citrus. Tastes of caramel, citrus, and some floral hoppiness. There was some light lacing left on the glass.

OC tour, tap at brewpub: Amber hue with small head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of caramel and toffee, tangerine esters, and herbal hops. The taste is sweet and grainy with some fruit and herbs noted, boring. The feel is smooth and soft. Blah

Tap @ the brewpub. Poured a clear amber color with an off-white head. Caramel aroma and flavor with just a hint of citrus. Nutty and earthy notes on the finish. The finish was also a little grainy though.

Liked thsi the least of all of the 6 sampled. No aroma at all and all it had was a malty sweetness without any bitter to counter. BORING.

This beer seems to be the brewpubs unofficial flagship beer. I guess Grampa is to blame for this. Amber (almost identical to the IPA) with a thin light beige head. Minimal lacing. Aroma was lightly malty. The flavor was smooth malt but kind of weak and had just a hint of hops in the finish. This could be something but they need to give it more pizzazz (yes that word is in MS Word’s spell-check).
