From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black with a minimal and tan head. Hardroasted malt aroma, light breadish and chocolate note. Acidic roasted flavour with a distinct liqourice hoppy note. Bitter and acidic finish. A bit too overdone on the roasted flavours.

Opaque reddish brown appearance. Well pronounced dark chocolate and coffee aroma. Smooth palate, heavy coffee roast Brew finishes with ground coffee and some bittersweet chocolate notes, decent brew.

On tap at the JT Schmids Brew Pub located in Anaheim, CA. Poured a deep black color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roasty and some coffee. Tastes of chocolate, caramel, roast, and coffee. I would say chocolate really stood out on this one and this was my favorite of all the beers I had there tonight. Light lacing left on the glass.

Black with a brown head. Nice roasty, almost burnt malt aroma. Medium body. Rich, burnt/blackened malt flavors with some smoke. Best of show here at the brew house.

Poured a dark brown with a big brown head. Aroma is sweet chocolate malts with a moderate roast backing that up. The flavor is sweet and roasty with chocolate accents and a touch of coffee/mocha. Was relatively creamy and smooth.

I stopped into the brewpub just before a Ducks game. The place was jammed, so I only tried this one. A dark brown pour with an an aroma that starts roasty then quickly tapers off. The flavor was of lightly roasted nuts.
