Poured a deep black color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, roasty and some coffee. Tastes of chocolate, caramel, roast, and coffee. I would say chocolate really stood out on this one and this was my favorite of all the beers I had there tonight. Light lacing left on the glass.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 5, 2007 OC tour, tap at brewpub: Near opaque with a sticky frothy lace. The aroma has notes of coffee and charred malt, prune and fig, aromatic pipe tobacco, and some leathery vapour. The taste has a nice malty versus bitterness balance with ripe fruit and smoke found as well. The mouth feel is medium-bodied and a tad oily. A smoked beer? A nice stout. goldtwins (4086), Nesconset, New York, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 10, 2003 This was probably my favorite beer from this Brewpub, but it’s still nothing mind-blowing. Very dark brown with a medium beige head. Fair lacing going on here. Strong malt and come coffee in the aroma which I found interesting for some reason. Conversely, coffee is more dominant in the flavor than the malt, and there is a hops presence in the finish. I would get this when I visit Anaheim again.
