Pours a semi-clear copper amber brew with a thin and fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a fine film and off-white ring. Aroma of semi-dry caramel malt, a touch of citrus zest, some circus peanuts, and earthy herbs. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of toasted caramel malt, light citrus zest and earthy herbs. Finish is semi-dry with a caramel and mild bitter aftertaste. Nice alt compared to some of the ones I’ve tried in Dusseldorf. esjaygee (1578), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA

One of the better beers at the brew pub. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 25, 2006 Translucent and magnifying buffed copper-bronze in color with a mystical, atmospheric white cloud swirl for the head. Clean, minimal aroma gets us some earthy noble hops, recently cleaned milkhouses, acidic wafers, and bitter toffee. There’s even a signature green bottle skunkiness to it, leading with great trepidation into the flavor. Butterscotch sets in with a nutty praline connotation. Toffee bark and peanut brittle duke it out and somehow come out with a circus peanut composite. Earthy, moldy, authoritative hop display. Barky cardboard ransacked with rain water and caramel ribbons. It’s fairly authentic when it comes to style. Brown paper bags, mildly toasted by candlelight, and fading praline bark give a dynamic aftertaste, however hollow the middle was before it. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 4, 2004 Light amber color with no head. Kind of a dry wood aroma. Another dried item in the flavor, this time barley. Heavily carbonated which caused it to be kind of harsh on the tongue. Eh, didn’t do much for me. JPDIPSO (4932), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
