| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 3, 2002 Ruddy amber color with a smallish light tan head. Smells just like being in a specialty grain malt house - very pleasant. Raw grain caramel flavors dominate. Appears to be some english malt and yeast influences. Quite smooth to the palate, but has some rougher edges that distract from the overall enjoyability. A fairly good ale. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jan 1, 2004 The above would be a pretty cool box-score for a baseball game (or part of one), but it's not so great for a beer. Red. Light malt. Light hops. Tricks you into thinking there's more than there is here. I can't waste more brainpower trying to describe the blandness. Skyview (4095), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2008 On draught at the brewpub in Western Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a clear light copper amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that quickly dissipates to an off-white ring and little lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt, a touch of toffee and some light citrus hops. Taste is medium bodied, with a semi-sweet caramel/toffee malt flavor with some roasted nuts and a touch of spice. Finish has a semi-sweet aftertaste, a little watery texture and a mild bitterness that quickly disappears. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 4, 2004 Clear red color with no head. Malty and sweet aroma. Fairly dusty taste. It struck me as a more raw beer, not well rounded. Bitter. A decent standby. GeneralGao (3073), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear copper color. Thin, creamy off white head that reduced to a ring. I smelled only some light toffee. Slightly sweet on the tongue with toffee, toasted bread, and light caramel flavors. Decent.
