The brew is affordable and have a nice variety of brew types but the brew is mediocre or less for a micro brewering reatuarant, with the exception of very good barley wine, smoked porter, old ale, and gran cru. The food is a bit pricey but good. If this place good up the quality of the brew it could be a red hot destination-- if places like Flossmoor Station can have very good beer than JT Whitney should be able to too. Tannins and roasted malt. Strong dark chocolate mouthfeel. Gets better around mid-glass. Actually not bad. Ughsmash (4047), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA

Chocolate, some fruit, and phenolic notes in the aroma that just didn’t quite mesh right. Medium-roasted chocolate and toffee base to the flavor with some patchy coffee bitterness and a little earth. Medium-bodied and flat across the middle.. definitely could’ve been smoother and more tasty. Toward the end it picked up a nice cocoa presence. Meh. Brigadier (1246), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

Smells of chocolate and toffee. The taste is smooth and subtle. Lingers for a while before fading. Enjoyable. If it is on tap when I visit Whitney’s again, I may give it another try. Aroma is cocoa powder, Count Chocula cereal, melted semi-sweet chocolate chips and some roasted qualities. Creamier than expected. Semi-sweet chocolate settles in with nicely roasted pecans. Solid and enjoyable. howie (549), DeForest, Wisconsin, USA

Dark malt and allspice aroma. Interesting cinnamon, light chocolate and blueberry flavors. Linger of dark chocolate. Somewhat different, but it works for me.
