On tap at the brewpub 8/9/08: Pours a semi-transparent dark copper mahogany with a pillowy-lacing dark tan head. Sweet toasty dark caramel nose has a good balance of milk chocolate. Body starts with good toasty dark caramel sweetness and some slightly grainy chocolate before a semi-dry pretty well-balanced finish. A pretty good porter.

Very dark brown with red highlights. Nice off white head. Roasted nuts, coffee, and chocolate flavors. This is a sweet beer but one that has a nice amount of hop. It has a delightfully smooth feel to it. A very good porter.

Deep, yet still translucent, mahogany with scarlet accents. Short, creamy tan head. Aroma is cocoa powder, Count Chocula cereal, melted semi-sweet chocolate chips and some roasted qualities. Creamier than expected. Semi-sweet chocolate settles in with nicely roasted pecans. Solid and enjoyable.

Dark brown with a hint of orange on the edges as held to the light. Small of white head. Dark malt and allspice aroma. Interesting cinnamon, light chocolate and blueberry flavors. Linger of dark chocolate. Somewhat different, but it works for me.

On draught at the brewpub in Western Madison, Wisconsin. Pours a dark cola brown brew with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates to a thin tan ring. Aroma of toasted dark malt, some chocolate, roasted nuts and a touch of black pepper. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of toasted dark malt, a touch of chocolate and some coffee and roasted nuts. Finish is smooth, with a nice balanced dark malt and chocolate aftertaste. A solid porter overall.

Lucky me, I get to be the first to rate this, and while half tanked even. Luckily, I took notes. This is a very dark black beer with a lasting head. No real aroma. It tasted of toffee and coffee. Very smooth and satisfying.

Brown with a red hue, light-brown creamy head. A light porter with dark apple flavor. Not bad.

On tap at the brewpub. Brown with thin tan head. Aroma of alcohol, roasted malt and light chocolate. Smooth body tastes of roasted malt, alcohol, chocolate and mild hops.
