J.T. Whitneys Chocolate Porter

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a dirty, thick, unfiltered chocolate brown without a whole lotta head... ugly. Milk chocolate and powdered cocoa on the nose... strangely not-too-appealing. About the same stuff found in the flavor, add some mild herbal hops. Chocolate was grainy on the palate and didn’t feel too good. Medium-bodied. Not so good.

A deep brown with an initial moderate brown head. A little roasted and chocolatey notes. Really rich, maybe a tad short on the bitterness. Quite drinkable and probably the best beer I’ve ever had here.

Near black color with a small tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, with hints of DMS and vinegar. Light mocha start with a herbal hops backdrop. Finish and linger of roasted nuts.
