JPDIPSO (4286), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 12, 2008 Copper color with a moderate off-white head. Mild aromas of caramel with herbal hops. Flavors of lightly toasted malt, dark caramel and heather. An interesting hopping to this one. Some earthy dry malts in the finish. Brigadier (905), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA Apr 14, 2006 On tap at brewpub
The deep dark red body gave off hints of sweet tea, malt, cherry, caramel and just the slightest impression of hops. The same tastes were evident as I sampled from the pint glass, except that the hops became more evident. Eventually there was a mild bitterness intermingled with chocolate dipped coffee beans. The finish was buttery but not in a bad way; it was mixed with other remnants of the first wave of flavors. Very balanced and easy to drink. robertsreality (2462), Minnesota, USA Apr 18, 2005 Brown Coloring with White Ring. Sweet and Malty Aroma. Malty, Grains... with a Grainy Dry Aftertaste. Smooth and Drinkable. badgerben (3160), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Apr 18, 2005 Brown color with no head. Small malt and grain aroma. Moderate malt flavor with a real buttery texture and taste. Not nearly as granular as most Irish Ales. Good!
