StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jul 14, 2005 Translucent bronze with a creamy tan/grey head. Aroma reveals some peat and hay, a little caramel and hazelnuts. Hits the palate as rich and creamy. Well pronounced hop bitterness. Scaled back malt profile to let hops take center stage. Crisp caramel cask-like qualities. Bittersweet aftertaste. Very enjoyable ESB. brewblackhole (1241), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Dec 18, 2004 One of the better brews I tried here at least the hoppiest. hop aroma, Hop bitter taste little sweetness, dry bitter aftertaste. This I would order again JPDIPSO (4286), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Oct 31, 2004 Dark golden color with a small white head. Earthy citric aroma. Flavors much more bitter with little malt. Lacks depth. Thin and boring to me. But as bitters go - OK. robertsreality (2462), Minnesota, USA Oct 7, 2004 Dark Orange Coloring. White Skin. Hoppy Aroma....sweet.. Grain. Very Dry Brew... Bitter. She’s Different. :) badgerben (3160), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Oct 4, 2004 Hazy, dark amber color with a thin head. Sweet hop aroma; odd, but somewhat enticing. Dry and bitter taste with some flowery notes. Not a bad little brew.
