Bottle: Pours pale amber with a nice , meium sized, white head. Nose of caramel, yeast, malt and some spiciness. Sweet flavour with malt, citrus fruit, and hops too. Medium bodied- Pleasant bitter finish. Well balanced and enjoyable. It has nothing to do with Duvel...(?)

Bottle @ Samson, Nijmegen. Pours a clear golden with a big creamy white head. There is lots of lacing here. Aroma has a littel barnyard, some spices and a general sweetness. Sweet flavour as well, some definite spicyness at the back of my mouth. Not sour, quite sweet, and quite fresh and spicy. Good brew!

Curiosa per Alken Maes.______________ENGLISH TEXT HERE______________33cl bottle @ Paola’s pub in Brescia, color is clear gold, deep, big head; looks like a hazy Duvel, but flavor is completely different and somewhat interesting: a touch of sourness, maybe yeast, weird final with fishy notes. Strange brew for Alken Maes.

Bottle. Clear, golden pour, leaving a white head. Fruit, some yeast, tropical fruits and some spices in the aroma. The flavor has a nice, quite fruity flavor, lightly spiced and a with some yeast. Medium body. The finish has some hops, as well as pale malt. Quite nice, but it’s not in the same league as Duvel. (070707)

Bottle bought at TRC Hotel in Launceston Tasmania. Murky golden with a towering white head that collapses into rocky merangue islands. Very yeasty aroma, a little sharp. Yeasty palate, a little spicy, biiter astringent finish. Alcohol is poorly integrated and borders on harsh. Not my favourite belgian strong.
