Taste was slightly fruity with a lot of malt. Mild alcohol taste but not overpowering. One of these is enough for me as it was nothing special. MagnumPI (56), Essex, England

Not much head and little sediment, although plenty of bubbles. Fruity aroma on opening, and strong uncomplicated flavour initially. A little coppery and fairly drinkable but nothing tantalising and am unlikely to be a traitor and leave others for this. Beware strength though as easy to quaff !

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 16, 2009 Bottle 330 ml. Nice appearance. Golden color with white foam. Its taste could be a lot better though. Nice strong belgian beer but there are better ones. I wasn’t very enthusiastic at this one. mickmac (96), Ngunnawal, Australia
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 3, 2009 An intersting belgian stong ale-but with gueze like falovours. Bottle. Pours with a large frothy white diminishing head over a clear sparkling light yellow amber coloured body. A sourdough like aroma. A lively alcoholic body. Marmalade like flavours finishing with a subtle acidity and bitterness. floydian1 (281), FNQ, Australia
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 1, 2009 I’m making the most of my time in Brisbane by trying a new beer every time I go to the Belgian Beer Cafe. This one is a strong blond ale. It comes in a 330ml brown bottle and is poured into a huge eponymous branded tulip glass. Dark golden in colour, it has a large foamy white head with fair retention and lacing. Satisfying aromas of light honey malts and spicy orangey hops. It tastes quite bitter for a blond ale with flavours of oranges, apples, alcohol and dry spicy bitter hops. Medium to full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel and a lot of finesse. I prefer the less sweet Belgian beers so this is right up there with Duvel and La Choufe.
