An intersting belgian stong ale-but with gueze like falovours. Bottle. Pours with a large frothy white diminishing head over a clear sparkling light yellow amber coloured body. A sourdough like aroma. A lively alcoholic body. Marmalade like flavours finishing with a subtle acidity and bitterness.

I’m making the most of my time in Brisbane by trying a new beer every time I go to the Belgian Beer Cafe. This one is a strong blond ale. It comes in a 330ml brown bottle and is poured into a huge eponymous branded tulip glass. Dark golden in colour, it has a large foamy white head with fair retention and lacing. Satisfying aromas of light honey malts and spicy orangey hops. It tastes quite bitter for a blond ale with flavours of oranges, apples, alcohol and dry spicy bitter hops. Medium to full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel and a lot of finesse. I prefer the less sweet Belgian beers so this is right up there with Duvel and La Choufe.

As gold as a golden ale can probably be, well carbonated, with a thin white head. Standard hint of banana and cloves. Surprisingly dry and quite thin for a beer of this strength, but almost bland, which isn’t something you say of many Belgian ales........

Bottle. Light sweet smell, a little bit of grain and yeast. The head is medium large, white and creamy with a normal duration. The body is clear and yellow. The taste is light sweet, quite drinkable and a little bit spicy. The body is medium strong, creamy and with lively carbonation.

Cloudy gold color. Not very intense fruity aroma. Taste is not overly complex for a Belgian. But there is a bunch of sweet citrus. Pretty easy to drink overall. Not as bad as a lot of people here make it out to be.

Dark yellow body and white head. Smell of pine, resin, and surgar turned me off early. Initial taste was slightly sweet with some citrus notes, but it turned quickly to a metallic spruce tree. The palate was a bit greasy and the long metal aftertaste was nasty. Maybe Ill try it again sometime, but it seems this opinion has been backed up by a few others here.

Dark blond colour. Fairly thick, syrupy feel. Taste is sweet and heavy. Rather a disppointment.
