Judge Baldwins Dark German Altbier

Had this beer on tap at there pub on 4/23/2003. Aroma is a malty scent with a hint of hops to it. Color is a deep amber. Taste is sweet and medicine like. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a mildly sharp feel. Finish is a sweet malt taste that turns to a medicine like taste. This is just not a fun beer to drink.

Draught. Pours dark brown with a small off-white foamy head that quickly diminishes. Caramel, chocolate malt and fruity hop aroma. Caramel malt, toffee, brown sugar, chocolate flavors with hints of maple, raisins and port. Medium bodied, thin and clean palate.

Draught. Body is dark brown. Aroma is lightly malty (nutty, roasted grain, burnt caramel, milk chocolate). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
