Aroma was strong on wheat, vanilla, clove, and also some skunky character that was rather off-putting. There’s also just some light banana, that actually intensifies as the beer warms. A sour cream smell shows up too. Taste is pretty typical of a sub-par hefe, with a lot of wheat, lemon, a suggestion of banana on the finish, clove, and not too much else. The flavor also gets a little better as it warms, which is paradoxical for a hefe. Neither the flavor nor the aroma were that notable, but the beer itself was actually somewhat thick for a hefe of this caliber, although the finish was rather short. Nothing special, just a run of the mill weizen. gnoff (3573), Göteborg, Sweden

Spicy and fruity banana scent. Spicy and estery banana taste. Classic example I’d say. Moussy mouthfeel, low bitterness. They’ve really created the perfect image of a hefeweizen the way I see it. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 26, 2008 pours a beautiful hazy gold with a tremendous head. aroma was faintly phenolic, but missing any real hefe character. the flavor was the same, no banana, clove, bubblegum or any of the typical weisse beer characteristics popping out. very subdued in my opinion. llcooldave (328), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 24, 2008 Really foamy head that takes awhile to dissapate. Cloudy lemony in appearance. Aroma of bananas right from the start which changes slightly to an almost cedar quality. Very fruity and creamy flavor almost like bananas and vanilla. Should make a nice summer drinking beer. Great creaminess, with good mouthfeel and body. It has slight spicyness, with more fruitiness than anything. Great wheat malt flavor, nice on the tongue with the slight citrus flavor. This beer was great, and I will have it again. Try it. mjs (1516), Helsinki, Finland

Nose contains hops, malts and yeast. Banana in taste. Palater is a bit on the dry side. Somewhat strange beer. bleeng (598), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA

Hazy cloudy golden pour with a thick chunky white head. Yeasty, lemony nose. Taste is bit musty, yeasty, tangy, lemony and well carbonated. Full mouth, pleasant after taste. Nice, well done Hefe. Great for the hot, humid, Houston summer. magildagom (10), Plano, Texas, USA
