Sweet when I first started drinking, then has a sour after taste. Smooth, not a lot of carbonation. Wheat and fruit can be detected in this ale. MoritzF (4995), Bochum, Germany
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 28, 2007 (bottle) Hazy, orangey colour with a huge and durable foamy white head. Sweet wheaty and yeasty aroma with aromatic sour-fruity accents (apricots, banana) and balanced spicy phenols in the background. Moderately sweet flavour with yeasty bitter notes, light to medium bodied with a pleasant carbonation. Wheat-accented, fruity and yeasty taste; almost bitter and slightly sour, yeasty and wheat-malty finish. Could be better balanced, but fairly drinkable. pivnizub (5055), Bochum, Porúří, Germany

Very effervescent and zesty. I can smell and taste the lemons spices and a hint of hops in this thing. This is a pretty decent beer for a hefeweizen. Cheers! BrandonB (87), Denton, Texas, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 12, 2006 16 oz bottle poured into my .5L Hofbräuhaus hefe-glass. Hazy yellow pour with a big, fluffy, pillow-like white head. Very lemony, citrusy aroma with banana and just a bit of yeast. Mouthfeel is fuller for this hefe than it is for most. Flavor matches the aroma and is very sweet with just a hint of some spicy clove lingering around. A well made hefeweizen, and I love my German hefes. pbjclimber (150), Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA
