Julius Echter Hefe-Weissbier Hell

Pours a beautiful cloudy yellowish orangey color with a very thick white head. Aroma consists of a very present citrus note that tends to be sugary sweet with a very nice hint of banana as well (the sweet might actually be the banana). Taste brings a few flavors to the palate, definitely citrus and wheat, with a small hint of banana once again. While the taste sets in your mouth, the palate is filled with a tiny bittery sweet what taste. Overall a very nice hefe!

Bottle. Pours hazy orange\gold with a large off-white lasting head. Aroma of bananas, citrus, and wheat. Flavor is smooth, bananas, citrus, yeast, wheat, sweet. Good body, Damn good brew.

Pours a cloudy pale orange, great big white head with awesome retention, small bubbles. Unlike a lot of German imports, this one had some nice sediment in the bottle which I think helped the beer along. Aroma is sour, grapefruit, orange citrus. Taste is bitter, grainy, light citrus, but some certain metallic notes that stand out. Body was much too watery.

Bottle. Pours murkey yellow orange with a white head. Wheat malt aroma along with the typical banana esters. Very light and citrusy flavors, but lacks a little sweeteness. Not bad, but there are far better examples out there. But who knows how fresh this one was.

Pale cloudy yellow pour, frothy white head. Banana and yeast nose, pleasant. Taste isn’t as good - flavor is weak, not at all pronounced, and there’s a bit of a sour off-flavor in there. Reminds me a bit of the Sanwald, less oily, but a bit more astringent. Dull and disappointing.

This is quality stuff. It’s got that quality heft to it, that full-bodiedness in your mouth. It’s aroma is not so noticeable - yeasty. The appearance is a cloudy golden. The flavor is fairly straightforward but smooth and to the point. The palate is of light Bavarian goodness.

16-oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy and hazy browned lemon with a tall and foamy white head, spotty-lined lacing. Aroma is heavily nutty and yeast (wheat) with medium roasted malt (meal, biscuit). Mildly bitter yeast (dark wheat) and nutty, caramel biscuit flavor, no acidity, medium to low sweetness, tart citrus fruit - faint and quickly disappears, lasting wheat flavor. Medium bodied and fizzy-spicy, dry palate.

Quite a decent hefeweizen, I really do not get enough of these. Nice haziness, bubbles are great when poured into the proper glassware, sweetness to the aroma, kind of citrus, flavor is very representative of the style, cloves, citrus with that background of wheat-y goodness. Nice a little better than the average, but no particularities worth noting.
