This hefeweissen is packaged in an uncustomary 16 oz. bottle, as opposed to the standard 500 ml typical of such exports. It pours hazy golden yellow to light orange with huge, long-lasting white head. It leaves a dazzling cascading lacing pattern. There are pronounced aromas of light citrus, clove and ripe banana in the nose. Initial palate is clean and quite dry. Mid-palate develops the flavors suggested by the aroma, but the citrus tang is more lemon than orange. This ale is medium bodied and effervescent with dry palate through-and-through. Brief, tart finish and slight alcohol taste. Best served ice cold. Very good.

Tap at the Heuttenbar. Pours a cloudy yellow with a large foamy head. Aromas of citrus and bananas. A very nice Hefeweizen.

Yellow/golden and hazy with a white & lasting head. Aromas of clove, incense, banana and rubber/vinyl. Flavor was adverse at first with a chemical-rubbery taste, then it stabilized to a standard hefeweizen flavor with a creamy yet dry mouthfeel. Throughout the tasting, I couldn’t help but thinking that it was a bit off.

Bottle: Poured a hazy light orange color, with a large, creamy, white head that somewhat diminished but mostly held on for the ride. Smells of lemon citrus, grass, and bananas. Light sweet hops in the mouth with lemons, fruits, and spice noted. Light, slightly watery but a good Hefe.

Pours a cloudy orange body with a large head. Aroma is typical banana and citrus but also hints of vanilla. Enjoyable but nothing notable.

Biggish white lasting shiny head. Hazy pale yellow body. Light chalky herbal bananaish aroma. Dryish-sweet bananaish milky pepper taste, soft and rounded, with herbal notes. Full body, mild mouthfeel. Dryish oily banana aftertaste with spicy notes. Light hoppy notes linger. Nice weizen. (0.33l draft at Thüringer Hof, Leipzig. Previously rated at Bäcköfele, Würzburg.)

Big foamy head from the bottle to a Hefe vase. Smells doughy with bananas. Citrus finish. Feels smooth and full going down. Very nice Hefeweizen.

Pours a nice cloudy yellow with a massive thick white head which fades into a smaller head but doesnt disappear. Some lace as well. My bottle was undercarbed. Aroma is dominated by phenolics like clove and vanilla at first with lots of wheat, but some banana and other yeasty esters came through as it warmed. Full bodied wheaty, spicy, fruity, and very smooth.
