| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 12, 2009 A good Hefe that is really just average when compared to most German Hefes. Aroma has some faint notes of bananas and yeast. Flavor is that of a typical hefe. Light, refreshing, with citrus and some other fruits. jujubeast6000 (784), Houston, Texas, USA

Pours a cloudy pale yellow colored body. Very big foamy creamy white head, lastingish. Malty, nutty aroma. Some kinda funky aroma. Yeast or something. Light taste, some fruitiness, like banana. Very light tasting, refreshing. Almost watery, but not quite. A little dusty, almost dirty. ChainGangGuy (2568), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2009 Appearance: Moderately hazy, golden body with a large, long-lasting, white head.
Smell: Lightly toasty, lightly tangy malted wheat replete with the usual, expected notes of clove, unripe bananas, and lemon zest. Also some sweetish flourishes of honey candy.
Taste: Toasty, tangy wheat with some sugary tastes of light caramel and wildflower honey. Light touch of spicy cloves and cinnamon. Faint hint of citrus. Fruity bananas. Fairly low Noble hop character and bitterness. The malty sweetness bounces back soundly until you hit the drying, lightly crisp, yeasty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high carbonation.
Drinkability: Fairly good, fairly enjoyable hefeweizen with a well-balanced, refreshing taste. Let’s be sure to do this again sometime, J. Echter! drjay44 (788), Salida, Colorado, USA

Pours a huge fluffy white head (looks like shaving cream) of good duration with some lacing, over a cloudy pale yellow body (SRM 5).......nose is lemon, clove, apple, banana.....taste is initially wheat malts, then lemon, banana, lemon coriander, and clove come in....mouth feel is light, carbonation present. A reasonably typical Hefe, although a bit subdued in spice and fruit aromas and flavors. BeerBunker (607), Burbank, Illinois, USA

Taste is of malt, citrus, spice, coriander, and banana. Taste is initially of light hops and wheat. Has a toasty malt backbone that evens out the hops. Lots of banana and clove mixed in this brew. Each sip finishes off with lots of citrus and spice. Mouthfeel is light and smooth. A very easy drinking beer. Too much on the spicy side for my taste, but a good brew. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2009 Cloudy yellow appearance. Tall, white, thick head. Medium sweet. Some banana, citrus, and bubblegum. A good weizen. smcolw (350), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 10, 2009 The aroma featured powerful citrus and wheat as would be expected in this category.
Golden in color, cloudy in clarity, Echter Hefe-Weiss fits the category wonderfully. The white head was on the small side.
The esters of banana were the first notes in taste. The wheat/hop finish would be expected. I also enjoyed the honey flavors that came in the middle.
With a puckering tartness, this beer is slightly heavier than I would normally expect. In terms of drinkability, this is excellent example of the style and would work well after a long summer day.
