Commercial Description:
JW Dundee’s American Amber Lager has a complex malt character that is masterfully balanced by a distinct American Hop aroma and flavor. We use 5 different malts to create the complex malt flavor in this beer. We start with our 2 Row Pale Malt as our base and then add 4 different types of Crystal Malts. It is the combination of the four Crystal malts that define the complexity of the beer. Although the malt is showcased in this beer, the hops play an important part in the balance of flavors. We use Simcoe, Cascade, and Magnum hops to create the hop profile that balances the complex malt character. This balance creates a beer that has great depth of flavor while still being very drinkable. JW Dundee’s Amber Lager is flavorful enough to satisfy craft beer drinkers yet is still accessible to those looking to find a beer with a little more character than their normal beer.

Nice head. Orange amber in color with a nice bitter hops taste (rather fresh tasting). Yeasty malt aroma. Just finished eating Tex-Mex and the beer seems to lend itself nicely to the spicy aftertaste of the food. Overall, I’d probably purchase this again...

Drank from bottle, in the shower at 11 AM (What? Its my birthday. I’ll do what I want.) Really really sweet. I wasn’t a fan of this one. Strong sugary aroma. Thin mouthfeel. The review below me is right. It DOES taste nearly identical to Michelob Amber Bock.

You want to know what this tastes like? Think Michelob Amber Bock-that’s what’s this is like. It has that nondescript mass produced lager body and flavor. Hops are almost non-existent- light sweet malt and a papery brief finish. It’s not really bad just unmemorable. Greet this with the same level of anticipation and expectations you would have for a.....Michelob Amber Bock.

Bottle not dated. Pours an attractive reddish-copper. The aroma is sweet, almost sugary. Medium mouth feel and smooth. The taste is very, VERY sweet and malty. Not as sweet as Dundee’s Honey Brown but sweet all the same. Nothing bitter about it that I can tell. Hey, I like this one.

Aroma a bit smoky. Color a light amber tending to orange. Taste is light malt, some hop. Mouth is watery with a decent fizz and hop finish.

Pours amber with an off white head. Kind of a roasted malt aroma. Taste is a little bitter. Not very impressed.

Copper color. Bittersweet but slightly muddied aroma with a light citrus and honey sweetness on the flavor.

This beer had a copper color with out much head, and something in the aroma that I can’t describe. I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
