Commercial Description:
JW Dundee’s American Amber Lager has a complex malt character that is masterfully balanced by a distinct American Hop aroma and flavor. We use 5 different malts to create the complex malt flavor in this beer. We start with our 2 Row Pale Malt as our base and then add 4 different types of Crystal Malts. It is the combination of the four Crystal malts that define the complexity of the beer. Although the malt is showcased in this beer, the hops play an important part in the balance of flavors. We use Simcoe, Cascade, and Magnum hops to create the hop profile that balances the complex malt character. This balance creates a beer that has great depth of flavor while still being very drinkable. JW Dundee’s Amber Lager is flavorful enough to satisfy craft beer drinkers yet is still accessible to those looking to find a beer with a little more character than their normal beer.

Rich amber pour with foamy white head. Smell was a bit skunked on mine, but aside from that there was some sweet malt and a touch of a metallic smell too. Taste is light sweet malt, with a highly carbonated body. Decent, but far from one of the my favorites. Got this in a JW sampler pack.

A somewhat bland American dark. Pour was a medium amber with no head. Aroma was malt with some honey and metal. Taste was strongly carbonated with a bitey mouthfeel. Roasted maltiness is there but a watery finish ends this beer. Typical macro.

Nice amber color, with a small ugly head however. Almost scentless. Bitter hoppy taste. Swallows relatively well. Can’t say I plan on ever having another, though I suppose someone will have to drink that second bottle I’ve got.

A decent, well balanced amber lager. Better than the honey brown, but also lacking complexity and hop flavor. A sweet malty taste.

Tangerine colored. A nose full of malts or some sort of starchy bread, with a whiff of dark chocolate. Real smooth down the throat, but a odd sting of flavor at the end. Initial taste is good, but after-taste wants me to brush my teeth. I’ve had memories of this beer where it tasted really good. Today -- it’s comme ci comme ca.

It looks a little better than it tastes. A flat, bland slightly brown beer. Non-offensive flavor. fairly smooth and very flat. Not very good

As advertised. Pours a clear amber color with a soft white head. Like a lot of lagers it’s smooth, not very bitter and refreshing. More malty than hoppy it goes down quickly. A little watery but otherwise enjoyable.

Bottle from variety pack. Amber color with small off-white head. Aroma was weak. Average flavor, some malts and bitterness
