Commercial Description:
JW Dundee’s American Amber Lager has a complex malt character that is masterfully balanced by a distinct American Hop aroma and flavor. We use 5 different malts to create the complex malt flavor in this beer. We start with our 2 Row Pale Malt as our base and then add 4 different types of Crystal Malts. It is the combination of the four Crystal malts that define the complexity of the beer. Although the malt is showcased in this beer, the hops play an important part in the balance of flavors. We use Simcoe, Cascade, and Magnum hops to create the hop profile that balances the complex malt character. This balance creates a beer that has great depth of flavor while still being very drinkable. JW Dundee’s Amber Lager is flavorful enough to satisfy craft beer drinkers yet is still accessible to those looking to find a beer with a little more character than their normal beer.

bottle - Pours clear amber with a one finger head that leaves a bit of lacing. It has a light, sweet malt aroma and tastes of caramel malts with a very mild hops presence. It’s watery and goes down easy. Lacking.

Not really perfectly balanced as the lable would say. It has a good taste. More malty, not much hop profile. It’s very drinkable, but it has this empty taste to it. It’s not necessarily thin mouthfeel, it’s like drinking a ghost beer. sorry but that’s the only way I can describe it. Don’t think I’ll be trying again; although it is drinkable. Their pale ale is much better.

12 oz bottle pours a very clear amber with an inch and a half off white head. Very malty aroma. Tastes mostly of sweet malt and caramel, very little of hops.

Nice amber color with high clarity. Solid malty aromas, some floral/honey undertones. Lightly carbonated and easy to drink. Smooth slightly hoppy finish. Pretty good and a bit underrated in my opinion.

Nice bright color and white head. The malt comes through clear and the hops make a nice undertone. Refreshing brew for a hot day and works well with food.

Pours an orange coppery color with a medium frosty white head. Aroma of caramel malts with tiny hints of orange lemon citrus. Taste is of honey, malts, caramel and very faint old orange hops. Not a bad lager.

Bottle. Kind of shit, but drinkable at the same time. Some light sweet caramely sort of malt flavours, with a touch of hop in the finish. Lightly stale mouthfeel, but with a crisp finish. A bit dull i suppose.
