Commercial Description:
JW Dundee’s American Amber Lager has a complex malt character that is masterfully balanced by a distinct American Hop aroma and flavor. We use 5 different malts to create the complex malt flavor in this beer. We start with our 2 Row Pale Malt as our base and then add 4 different types of Crystal Malts. It is the combination of the four Crystal malts that define the complexity of the beer. Although the malt is showcased in this beer, the hops play an important part in the balance of flavors. We use Simcoe, Cascade, and Magnum hops to create the hop profile that balances the complex malt character. This balance creates a beer that has great depth of flavor while still being very drinkable. JW Dundee’s Amber Lager is flavorful enough to satisfy craft beer drinkers yet is still accessible to those looking to find a beer with a little more character than their normal beer.

fizzy carbonation - pours a thick creamy head. Caramel flavor with a hint of a dark lager. Decent beer.

Bottle. Amber with an off-white foam. Aromas are light caramel and toffee malts with some spices. Flavours are light weetabix malts with green hops and some soapiness, especially towards the finish. Carbonation gives the beer a prickly palate. So many malts and hops that it has become homogonised.

Amber color with a fluffy white head. Aroma shows some restrained caramel malts and hops up front. Sweet caramel malt comes through nicely on first sip and is balanced well with a mild hop bitterness.

Average is the first word that comes to mind. Watery and easy to chug. This is great compared to a typical macro though. But if you’ve been spoiled by real craft beers you may want to look elsewhere.

Orange appearance with no carbonation. Not as interesting as the label would have you believe. Slightly soapy and aq bit dissapointing.

Bought a variety 12pk this was in it. After reading the description of this bottle, I have high expectations! Heavy reddish amber color. Foamy almond colored head. Aroma of malt. flavor of malt. finish of caramel. not as impressive as the description, although it will blow the average BMC drinker’s mind. Very average for my standards!

12 oz bottle. A smooth, easy to drink amber with a nice 4.9 ABV so it has a little kick to it. Not something I might go out and purchase alone as I do like the darker brews, but an easy beer to drink and easily recommended.

Pours a reddish brown, head is weak as the rest of the beers of this brand. Smells of malt and spices. Taste is a myriad of malts, spice, nuttiness, and dry hops. Pretty decent amber, enjoyable, good but not great.
