Commercial Description:
JW Dundee’s American Amber Lager has a complex malt character that is masterfully balanced by a distinct American Hop aroma and flavor. We use 5 different malts to create the complex malt flavor in this beer. We start with our 2 Row Pale Malt as our base and then add 4 different types of Crystal Malts. It is the combination of the four Crystal malts that define the complexity of the beer. Although the malt is showcased in this beer, the hops play an important part in the balance of flavors. We use Simcoe, Cascade, and Magnum hops to create the hop profile that balances the complex malt character. This balance creates a beer that has great depth of flavor while still being very drinkable. JW Dundee’s Amber Lager is flavorful enough to satisfy craft beer drinkers yet is still accessible to those looking to find a beer with a little more character than their normal beer.

12oz bottle-pours a rich off white head and amber/copper color. Aroma is medium malt, tea-herbal, some spice. Taste is medium malt-caramel, tea-herbal, some spice hops. Some metallic tannins distract from beer that seems to be a cross of an Irish/American amber. Soft carbonation.

Crystal clear, amber lager with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. The aroma is of honey and butterscotch. A touch fruity. The well-balanced flavor is slightly tangy. Medium-bodied with an astringent mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, tart, grassy finish.

Bottle. Kind of shit, but drinkable at the same time. Some light sweet caramely sort of malt flavours, with a touch of hop in the finish. Lightly stale mouthfeel, but with a crisp finish. A bit dull i suppose.

Pours amber with a tan head. Smells of caramel, diacetyl, some fruity hints. Tastes fruity and buttery with some vegetal notes.

Smells like rotting corn and sweet maple syrup. Tastes like paint, rotting grapes and tobacco... maltliquoresque. That is all I have to say.

This is making my tongue feel bad. It’s a pale orange, nicely beaded brew, but there’s little of any head to it. It’s got a sweet aroma like cheap, stale caramel corn. Light bodied and fizzy in the mouth, this tastes a lot like a macro pale swill. Tinny finish.

Dark amber color with smallish light beige head. Aromas of mild toasted malt. Lots of malt flavors. Primarily caramel and grain. Somewhat husky. Quite sweet and not as dry a finish as I would like in an amber lager.
