GMUcrew7 (208), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Feb 4, 2008 Pours nice burnt orange color with barely off white head that dissipates very fast. Aroma is rather faint, flavor is better, mostly malty, with a better than expected mouthfeel. Really solid ambers are hard to come by, and while this one is no exception to that rule, I’ve had plenty about the same or worse that cost nearly twice as much.
TheGrandMaster (1492), Auckland, New Zealand Sep 17, 2008 Bottle with - and courtesy of - yalnikim, a clear amber with the glass, with a thick off-white head. A doughy malt aroma. Standard ’mass’ amber lager flavour, sweetish malt and slightly metallic, with a thin mouthfeel. Unoffensive, would be popular with kiwi blokes who like their Lion Red, etc. yalnikim (666), Wellington, New Zealand Sep 16, 2008 Tasted 16/09/2008. 12oz bottle. Huge biscuit dough malt aroma, very German, reminiscent of Sam Adams. Medium sweetness. Slightly grassy, herbal hop note with a little metallic twist in the finish. Certainly drinkable but not eaxactly "refined".
