Low ABV Milds in the bottle tend to disappoint, but this was actually not too bad. There is a thinnish treacley, burnt flavour, some caramelisation and a touch of woodland fruit. Not mouthcoating but fairly sweet, then a slightly damp paper finish. It’s reasonable for what it is.

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Bottle from Morrisons, Banbury, Oxon, consumed 17-11-09 Pours dark brown with not much head that I noticed. Aroma is thin and barely noticeable but what I did get is a sort of clinical swimming pool water waft from this, possibly edging towards chlorine, anyway it was a touch chemically although I hasten to add I did get some beery aroma also with a touch of roast malts. Taste is malty but very thin, some burnt tastes, but this is just so thin and devoid of taste its really quite forgettable, couldn’t finish it and maybe just maybe I had a dodgy bottle whatever it really isn’t a beer that I will return to. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 7, 2009 Bottle, from Morrisons in Grimsby. Deep red-black, thin but lasting beige head and moderate condition. Pleasant burnt treacle and sweet liquorice notes in the nose, quite thin and fruity-tangy in the mouth with a dry chalkiness and a suggestion of burnt toast, muted chalky finish with a touch of fruitiness.
