MrWalker (928), Stockholm, Sweden Jan 7, 2005 Updated: Jan 31, 2005Cask @ Oxford Beer Festival, UK Backlog 22 Oct 2004 Fresh dark mild, this one. Quite complex with chocolate, coffe and bacon (!) as predominate factors. Surprisingly for its strength. RERATE: Cask @ Rain Bar, Manchester, UK 27 Jan 2005 Sweet, bacon-flavoured crisps(!). Good condition, a bit cold. Toasted aftertaste. 5/5/7/4/15 (3.6) bobinlondon (215), Harrow, Greater London, England Jun 17, 2008 Handpulled cask at JDW Hatch End, Harrow, during spring international beer festival. Newly tapped cask produced a lovely fresh pint with dense off white head. Grainy aroma, wonderful comlpex taste for a low gravity beer. Chocalate, good coffee and roasted grains with a refreshing balancing hop finish. One of the best examples of a dark mild I have tasted anywhere. cgarvieuk (2350), Edinburgh, Scotland Mar 28, 2008 cask at JDW Edinburgh ... Deep copper ... light fruit malt ... Loads of toffee fruity som hop but lots of sweet fruit malts. Gazza (720), Worcester, Worcestershire, England Apr 5, 2004 If served from a wooden cask, this is a superb brew. Similar to the bitter, in that it has a strange distinctive flavour that some love and others hate. Quite bitter for a mild, with a hint of sweetish caramel, a strange plummy fruitiness and a dry balanced finish. Thin bodied, but refreshing and moreish, just as a mild should be. Top stuff. (cask at Golden Pheasant, Plumley) Magic_dave6 (3665), London, Greater London, England May 8, 2007 Very happy with how this turned out for my mild may festival. Aroma is deep fruits, caramel and toffee, touch of floural hop. Taste is similar increadibly drinkable, like 8-9 pints of this could go down dangerusly well.
