Cask at The Bell, Banbury, Oxon, 31-03-08 Finished off my evening with a half of this as the very popular Elgoods had just finished. Copper coloured beer with a thin white head, caramel, some malt on the nose, malts in the mouth, I got fed up of rating it after a bit and to be honest it was something of a let down to finish with this after a surprisingly good Monday evening of beer.

Cask in Couting house. Aroma is malty, nutty, maybe hints of choc malt, floural with quite a bit of bittering hop. Taste is again nutty but nicely balanced by the bittering hop.

Cask @ Southwark Tavern, London. Creamy ESB-esque nose. Pours a clear, copper coloured beer. Silky mouthfeel, some sweetness lots of hops, caramel. Bitter finish. Not bad but a touch unrefined.

Cask at Wetherspoons in High Wycombe. A brownish beer with a white head. A strong bitter with a bitter hop finish. Doesn’t get more standard than this. Drinkable but very boring.
