Mild spicy, herbal hop nose dissipates quickly leaving a caramel malt aroma. Red-amber with excellent clarity and a decent cover of tan head. Malty caramel flavour with some balancing bitterness. Nice dry finish leaves this one very easy to drink with medium body and moderately low carbonation. Bottle sampled with Lubiere, MartinT and Rastacouere.

Not exactly the ruddy or rich-ruby appearance you’d expect, though there is a nice tinge of red/orange mixed in with the medium-brown hue. Fairly vapid vapours of malt, corn syrup and cherry escape the glass – nothing special. Based on the subdued aroma, the flavour is a nice surprise: cherry, chocolate, and a good, solid dose of bitterness. The gritty texture is also quite pleasant. Starts slow, ends well.

From hand pump at The Alex in Derby. A mid brown coloured beer served with a sparkler. Particularly malty with a strong creamy head. At £2.30 a pint for 4.5% a reasonable purchase. Though a tad to malty for my taste

This beer is intense in its burnt dryness. There is a grape skin-like tang to the flavour along with berry notes. I like dry beers but this is still a bit OTT.

ugh this tasted like a bad combination of swimming pool water and off camembert rind - undrinkable. i took it back and complained to the barman who took great offence and kept muttering we’ve had it for two years, never had a problem bla bla bla. so i can only assume it’s a bloody awful beer with industrial-grade bleach in the recipe.
