Nov 07 Cask conditinoed @ Humble Plumb. Sweet caramel, heavy syrupy body. Poor. 2.3
Oct 06Cask conditioned @ Standing ORder (JDW), Soton. Nicely malty without being sweet or over the top. Robust bitterness which feels remniscent of autumn walks through woods surrounded by fallen leaves. Not much else to it but quite drinkable. 3.3

A dark, chestnut, red brown beer with a weak, beige-white head. the nose is a mellow blend of sweet malt and liquorice. The taste is of the sweet malt again, along with the liquorice, there is a tiny hint of dry bitterness in the finish to perfectly balance the sweetness. The aftertaste is smooth and bitter sweet. (Bottle - purchased from Waitrose as part of a three pack of small craft brewers of Britain).

[CASK: Ra!n Bar, Manchester 02/12/06] A good autumn ale that is more of a winterish ale I thought. A rich ruby ale with a pleasant finish of good flavour. Worth a try.

JDW, Eastbourne. Soft, frothy head. Autumnal. Damp leaves. A typical Autumn Ale - a splash of crystal malt. Slightly stale tasting. Not great.

Dark hazy copper, off-white head. Earthy and salty nose, dry sandy malts. Mellow and husky. Spicy and almost lemony hops. Stale global character. Quite heavily carbonated, light bodied and oily feel.

ugh this tasted like a bad combination of swimming pool water and off camembert rind - undrinkable. i took it back and complained to the barman who took great offence and kept muttering we’ve had it for two years, never had a problem bla bla bla. so i can only assume it’s a bloody awful beer with industrial-grade bleach in the recipe.
