TBone (5116), Pori, Finland Jul 17, 2008 Draught@U Klokočnika, Prague
Golden color, small white head, some lace. Grainy, slightly barnyardish Saaz aroma. Malty, slightly buttery, easy to drink. Not very hoppy, nice Sauna beer.
Svesse (1818), Hässelby, Sweden Aug 2, 2008 (Draught at U Klokočnika, Prague, 21 July 2008) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Clean, malty, grassy nose with slight notes of toffee. Clean, malty taste with toffee and a dry, grassy bitterness in the finish. Rather thin body. Clean and fresh, fairly nice. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 1, 2008 Draught at U Klokočnika, Prague. Hazy golden, small creamy head. Light orange-hay aroma. Medium sweet with clean mouthfeel. Light bodied, but the vitak grainy malt holds up very well. The evident hop flavour enhances the flavour further and brings a lingering but balanced bitterness. Well made throughout. Non-typical beers will receive personalized descriptions after the express ratings. ----------------------------------------------------------------
How: Tap U Klokočnika, Prague
The look: Partly cloudy blonde body with a large white head
To me a typical Czech Světlý 11° and below is: Well malted body with lots of smooth cereals and a light fresh honey sweetness flavour. Some fruity notes (more fruity notes than in the 12°+) with mostly citrus fruits and a little lemon. The finish is somewhat herbal and citrusy with but unlike the 12°+ there is only a hint of the dry grassy bitterness usually associated with noble/Saaz hops. Bitterness is mild and does not really play a big role in the overall flavours spectrum. A light meringue sensation and an overall freshness impression.. Carbonation is typically very soft. These beers are low in intensity but very refreshing and drinkable in scarily large quantities.
This one: As above, typical for the style with all flavours very well integrated. Unlike the 12°, I prefered the unfiltered 10°. Taktik_MTL (1983), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada Mar 31, 2008 En fűt. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Arričre goűt légčrement houblonné. (Rating #1531)
