TBone (5116), Pori, Finland Jul 17, 2008 Draught@U Klokočnika, Prague
Golden color, small white head, some lace. A bit grainy, lightly buttery aroma. Malty, slightly woody hoppy flavor. Not bad, but less interesting than Kvasnicové-version.

Pale golden coloured, small white head, malty nose. Soft malty, bitterish hoppy and buttery taste with notes of herbs in the short hoppy finish. Quite ordinary. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 1, 2008 Updated: Sep 5, 2008Draught at U Klokočnika, Prague. Clear golden, small creamy head. Light orange-hay aroma. Similar to the unfiltered, but seems a tad lighter and more fragile. The hops are as evident, but the slightly diminished. Finishes with notable bitterness. I prefer the unfiltered, but this is almost as good. Glouglouburp (2006), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Apr 7, 2008 Updated: Aug 27, 2008Back from a Czech Republic pub-crawl this is part of my express ratings for the “typical” Světlý 11°- (Czech light Pils), Světlý 12°+ (Czech Pils), Polotmavý (Czech Amber Lagers) and Tmavý (Czech Black Lagers). Non-typical beers will receive personalized descriptions after the express ratings. ----------------------------------------------------------------
How: Tap U Klokočnika, Prague
The look: Clear blonde body with a large white head
To me a typical Czech Světlý 11° and below is: Well malted body with lots of smooth cereals and a light fresh honey sweetness flavour. Some fruity notes (more fruity notes than in the 12°+) with mostly citrus fruits and a little lemon. The finish is somewhat herbal and citrusy with but unlike the 12°+ there is only a hint of the dry grassy bitterness usually associated with noble/Saaz hops. Bitterness is mild and does not really play a big role in the overall flavours spectrum. A light meringue sensation and an overall freshness impression.. Carbonation is typically very soft. These beers are low in intensity but very refreshing and drinkable in scarily large quantities.
This one: As above but a bit more assertive on the hops front. Good one. (Rating #1530)
