pivnizub (3793), Porúří, Germany Jan 21, 2006 Bottle: Light amber coloured, thin, quite stable off-white head, sticking to the glass; fruity-malty, a bit dusty nose; faint, slightly sweetish, malty flavour with a tinge of bitterness; faint malty and a bit more bitter finish; quite thin bodied; drinkable, not unpleasant, but a bit thin.....
koblenzerAmi (3), Germany does not count Mar 18, 2008 Not a bad impression at the beginning--deep color, neat head, light but inviting aroma. Overall, not a bad choice, though not what you would want to offer your guests at a party. Available (though not common) in my area for 6.99 Euro for one case of 20 1/2L bottles.
Never seen on tap--probably limited to Düsseldorf area. wastl (113), Germany Dec 11, 2007 Bottle. Clear brown colour. Small, brownish head. Aroma of malts, slightly smoky. Sweet, malty start. Some sourness sets in, slight smoke taste. Uncommon Altbier, not really bad. raymondwave (785), Finland Nov 25, 2006 Tasting of 10 altbiers. Turned out very high on my book. Very beautiful foamy head, best of all 10 alts.Feels like a tap beer even tho it’s from bottle, very hoppy, but not too bitter hoppy taste. Big aftertaste, similar to czech lagers. Very good, I liked. dirtymike (2019), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA May 21, 2006 Light copper in color with a small off-white head and a low appearance of carbonation. thin, bitter dry finish. Mild toasted malt, decent bitterness. Radek Kliber (3302), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 9, 2006 Pours fizzy , frothy head . Light amber with low carbonation . Medium intense aroma of rye. Grainy-earthy feel. Sweet fruit , darker malt , all this sound much better on paper . Rather shadow of this style . More of bready-fruity character with hint of typical earthy touch. Boring .
