chuwy (3), Japan does not count Jul 18, 2008 Very sweet but the sweetness is balanced with the tartiness (is that a word?). Makes a good, lively and refreshing summer ale. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Apr 7, 2008 Bottle. Bought at Takanaya Liquor Store. Magnificent! Sweet and very fruity in flavor - like a whole truck of apricots (or whatever) got dumped into the barrel. One of the best japanese beers I’ve ever had. Could be grapefrults? No matter. Bit cloudy and bronze. 5 stars! TimE (1037), Tokyo, Japan Nov 10, 2007 Cloudy orange color. Tart. Very, very citrusy, but the honey strangely balances things out. Sweet honey in orange sode. Too sweet, but interesting and at least now I feel healthier. JoeMcPhee (3815), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jun 24, 2007 33 cl bottle. Very cloudy deep amber-gold beer with a thin white head. Aroma is very sweet and fruity with notes of orange and grapefruit (juice, not peel). Very little in the way of malt aroma or hops. Whoa... very strange flavour, sweet orange juice with a light fizzy texture and the underattenuated worty character that was seen in the blonde ale as well. All orange and citrus fruit juiciness up front followed by light breadiness. Not much in the way of hop flavour or bitterness. Warming bumps up the bready character a little bit, but it’s nowhere near enough to save this trainwreck. Way too sweet but it’s probably delivered my RDI of vitamin C.
