12oz bottle, <i>Batch 8564</i>--I believe this was a bonus from <i>pantanap</i>, thank you Kan! Hazy golden amber with plenty of chunks and a 1/2 finger creamy eggshell head, slowly fading. Hints of citrus and lighter banana atop a dusty cracker malt background. Tangy wheat and yeasty bread show up in the flavor (sorry for copying you, Colin) and finishes semi-dry with bitterness peaking around a 2. Moderate carbonation with a light smooth body. I thought this was a pretty decent for the style, however nothing earth-shattering.

Nov 27, 2008 12 oz. bottle from the infamous Binny’s Singles Rack (Orland Park, IL). Pronounced hazy gold with floaties and a moderate white head that dissipates and leaves some lacing. Aromas are largely flaked wheat malt in essence, some light sweetness comes out with a touch of grassy / herbal hops. Taste is fairly bland, cereal and flaked wheat malt dominate with light estery qualities and low hop character. Sessionable, but a bit heavy for mass consumption. Falls behind the pack in the wheat ale category. Cheers.

Sep 6, 2008 From the 12 oz bottle it poured a slightly hazed golden body with a modest white head that laced the glass nicely. It had an aroma of buttered wheat flakes, wet grasses, and citrus peel. Tasted much the same although the bitter element seemed a bit confused, first grassy, then lemony, then back again. Sep 5, 2008 cloudy dark golden with medium head. Light citrus and honey malt aroma. Nice balance of pronounced wheat, mild bitterness and citrus. Carbonation is on the heavy side. Enjoyable for sure.

Sep 1, 2008 Batch 8564. Pours a cloudy, glowing, golden-straw color with a huge, foamy, off-white head. The froth settles slowly to a thin film, leaving thick, patchy globs of lacing all the way down the glass. The aroma is light and crisp, with notes of freshly cut wheat, honey, lemon rind, and a faint hint of cinnamon. Flavors are well balanced and light. The dry wheat grains are sweetened with just a touch of honey, while floral and lemony hops lend countering bitterness. The finish is lightly sweet and clean. Substantial but not overbearing, the body shows balanced carbonation and laid back drinkability. Overall, this is a solid summertime brew, and a great ambassador for and underrepresented style.

Aug 29, 2008 Pours from the bottle a nice cloudy orange with a solid white head that leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is very faint of wheat and citrus. Flavor tastes like fresh squeeze orange juice with a bit of zest in there to bitter mixed with wheat and ends with a quite yeasty flavor. Pretty good beer and glad that Bell’s is back in IL finally.
