madsberg (4374), Bangalore, India Apr 21, 2008 Bottle bought in Ooty in Tamil Nadu. Golden coloured. Clear. Dense off white head. Lots of carbonation. Hay and grains in the aroma. Quite distinct. Flavour is a bit citric and dry and has grainy notes. Hay again. Is quite thin bodied and is dry. Ends on a very light bitter note, but sweetness is the dominant factor. Hmmm. Still have to stick to my Kingfisher I guess.
javatestcase (8), USA does not count Mar 8, 2007 SO far our favorite beer available in Delhi. Lacks the bitter aftertaste of just about every other beer available here. It’s a much better flavor for real beer drinkers than Haywards 500, a malt liquor of the worst order. It’s still kinda sad that this is the product of the same brewery that makes Newcastle. I’d kill for a Newcastle here in Delhi, but I’ll drink this for now. If you are here, look for Black Label before the other high octane liquors GRM (873), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada Jan 22, 2007 Brown bottle, 330 ml, label read as Kalyani Export Special, premium lager beer, best before December 2000; eye: golden with a hint of oranger, thin off-white head that disappears almost completely to leave a ring arouund the glass, lightly hazy, no effervescence; nose: oxidized, madeira, caramel; mouth: in that order, oxidized, light malt, light caramel, boiled vegetables, oxidized finale with a hint of caramel, thin, watery texture, mildly sweet, no bitterness per se, light body, no carbonation; overall: have to try it again

Very sweet, crisp & clean. Low bitterness obviously. Hard to find except in Indian restaurant. For what it is, it works for sure. If you want more body, you won’t like it. One of the more orginal beers I’ve had. A sweet taste in the bottom of bottle that is hard to identify but strongly present. Spiesy (2331), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Jan 1, 2006 Bottled, acquired and drunk in Delhi, India. Pale, pale yellow, with a full white head. Sharp chemical aroma with lifting farm yard hay and straw aroma. Drinkable relative to the majority of its peers for the shear fact that its not over proof strength.
