Pours hazy, pale golden with a small, creamy, off-white head. Disappears quickly. Weak aroma, light tulips, maltiness and butter. Fine mouthfeel, though. Flavour is malty without being too sweet, subdued hoppiness in the finish. Just a touch of butterscotch as well. MiP (9157), Sønderborg, Denmark

Malty flavour with a little honey. Good yeasty feel in finish, and clean aftertaste, albeit with a hint of lager sourness. garthicus (1309), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

An initial mini-bite with a smooth finish, definite hop flavours. Really enjoyable, well worth buying. rauchbier (3002), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England

Wheaty, yeasty, citrusy aroma with some charming malt overtones. Taste is similar, though this doesn’t have quite the thick/unfiltered mouthfeel I was hoping for. Very crisp, finished soft and smooth. Malt taste is lasting. maeib (4762), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 6, 2004 Bottled. A hazy orange coloured beer with loads of bubbles. The aroma is very lemony with wheat and yeasty notes also. The taste is a bit sour and almost ’rough’. It is obviously (I trust) unfiltered and tastes it. It has loads of character though, and is really refreshing. I enjoyed it! DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England

Now then, of the two Kapsreiter beers sampled, I would say this was the Keller, whilst the Landbier was... wait for it.. the Landbier. Hazy orange, smooth white head, fizzy beer. Yeasty, slightly apple aroma. Very tasty yeasty brew, rosy apple/orange notes abound. Dry finish. Basically a fulsome Lager, falling slightly short of a Hefe in my opinion. Still good stuff, and the better of the two products from Kapsreiter sampled tonight.
