Commercial Description:
The most refreshing beer in the world. Malted wheat and special yeast give Kapuziner Weissbier its light touch and distinctive taste - a yeasty tang offset by a solid malt body and a delightful tropical fruitiness. Unfiltered yeast lends a hazy, seductive look.

The aroma has wheat, bananas, bubblegum, and sugar. The appearance is deep golden orange with a slight hazing and a medium head. The flavor does not have as much of the aroma elements as it should. It is mildly bitter with some bubble gum and bananas but very little. And, there is no clove taste to speak of. The palate is thin. Overall it’s not a bad beer, it just doesn’t have all the right elements for a Hefeweizen.

Creamy white head, mostly lasting. Blond yellow body. Lightly bitter initial flavour, lightly bitter finish. Lively carbonation.

500ml bottle from Carrefour, Calais. Cloudy gold with a thick white head. Bit of stale malt on the aroma. Wheat, lemon and a bit of spice too. Soft in mouth. More lemon/bubblegum on the end. Competent Weiss. Bit more bubblegum and banana than most. Aroma lets it down a bit.

Purchased at rest stop on Autobaun. Poured a cloudy golden hue, with big thick white head. Complex nose of fruit (mostly banana), citurs, malts, and and odors I could not identify. Smooth tasting, and easy to finish. Basicallly a well balanced hefe made even more interesting by the complex fruit and spice flavors.

Cloudy orange/copper appear. Minimal head when poured, but some light lacing was left behind. Very wheaty, light citrus, hints of banana/apple. Very fizzy, extremely refreshing. It wasn’t a very memorable Hefe--nothing to set it apart from most others, but I really did enjoy it.

Thanks to cmaruschak for sharing his baby keg. Pours hazy orange/amber with a medium thick and fluffy white head that has decent retention. Thin, slippery lacing. Aroma of wheat and bananas. Medium-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Flavors of wheat, citrus and banana. The finish is wheaty with hints of yeast and spice. This is a pretty enjoyable Hefe.
