Commercial Description:
The most refreshing beer in the world. Malted wheat and special yeast give Kapuziner Weissbier its light touch and distinctive taste - a yeasty tang offset by a solid malt body and a delightful tropical fruitiness. Unfiltered yeast lends a hazy, seductive look.

Lively fruity, vanilla aroma eminating from a solid white head. Yellow body, just a touch cloudy with lots of carbonation. Soft palate, medium to light body. Taste is sweet and fruity with bananna esters. Long drawn out finish that is bitter, earthy, mineralized and just slightly drying. Quite a nice hefe, very pleasing and refreshing.

Hazy orange, big foamy head. Fresh, lemony wheat aroma. Lighjt to medium-bodied. Crisp, refreshing hefeweizen. Lacks depth, but clean and quite balanced.

Bottle from Whole Foods, Cary, NC. Pours hazy gold with huge white head. Aroma of Cloves, banana, bubblegum, yeast, hopcit. Nice aroma. Tastes hopcity, yeasty, with the clove/banana/bubblegum trio well represented in the taste and finish. There is a tropical fruit presence here also. The palate gets a bit light as it warms, but that is a minor beef. Well balanced, very complex, and delicious.

BottleL Yeasty banana and citrus aroma. Rather strong presence of orange peel. Pours a dark cloudy orangish-yellow with a white head with excellent retention. Matly and yeasty up front with a rather citrusy and clove finish. Banana quickly sneaks into a short lived aftertaste. One of the better hefes I’ve had.

Gold color with a medium head. Grainy aroma. Slight grass and wheat flavors. A bit more spice than I would expect. Nothing outstanding, but a solid wheat beer.

Another one of those that has this undercribable complex goldenish-amber-orange light tone while darker cloudy reddish-orange in the middle. I just love those reflects of mystery.. Plenty of yeast in suspension. Full 1-inch creamy white head, delicately lacing and lasting. Soft estery banana nose, quite fresh in its strong flakey wheat character. Spicy fruit skin, indeed feels a bit tropical, I don’t know how much I was influenced by the commercial description before saying that.. Drinkable and refreshing, very powdery feel. Growing acidity toward the finish cuts the taste a bit short. Hoppier than most, I don’t know how well this goes with the tropical fruit finish. Good balance overall appears shadowed by the strong malty feel, very fitting lower than average carbonation gives it a softness that few beers can achieve. Well, this was pretty good, not as exciting as I hoped it to be, but still one of the good german weizens in the US, as expected from kulmbacher. Fans of the style should hunt this gold dust down.
