| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Bottled. Pale amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is slight smoke, some grains as well as mild notes of caramel as well. Flavour is quite much the same along with some mild soapy notes. The stronger version is quite much better. bierkoning (6094), La Tropica, Netherlands

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Oct 22, 2009 Bottled, it’s a tick! Clear copper, coarse tiny pale head. Nose has modest , but clear dry smoke, rust, old metallic well water and malt syrup. Flavor is rust and minerals, with litle molassy sweetness and faint charcoal, ashtrays and even yeastiness. Light, but very lush mouthfilling palate. Seems to have the added smoke a tad more upfront than the stronger version, but that doesn’t save it from being just another nasty bulk. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 9, 2009 Bottle. Clear golden colour with a small head. Slightly smoky aroma with some maltiness. The flavour malty with notes of smoke and some sweetness. Quite thin bodied and watery. sayravai (3772), Helsinki, Finland
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 28, 2009 (Bottled) Clear, deep golden with a medium, firm head and some lace. Aroma has quite a bit of (artificial) smokiness, but also the caramely-metallic properties of the base beer. Flavor is clearly more smoky than the 6% version, but the metal and stingy-caramely sweetness can’t hide forever. Feels fuller in body than regular Karhu, probably thanks to the smoked ham aroma. Medium, slightly foamy carbonation. This is regular Karhu with lots of added smoke aroma. It does make this a bit less bad, and maybe introduces some people to the world of smoked beers. Can’t come up with any more positive points with this one. TBone (6844), Pori, Finland

Clear amber color, small white head. Light aroma of smoked ham, wet smokey wood and sweet malts. Watery palate. Sweet maltyness with wet smokey woody flavor. Lingering smokeyness in the aftertaste. Lots of more smoke than in the stronger version. Just too simple. Jonte (829), Gothenburg, Sweden
