Bottle. Amber colour with a small white head. Slightly roasted, sweet, smoky and malty aroma. Sweet and malty flavour with notes of smoke. Light to medium-bodied and sweet aftertaste. Not really a good smoked beer, but better than most of the beer from this brewery.

just ok smoky beer, with lots of maltiness. I am glad they try new things in bigger breweries too.

[Bottled] Dark amber, almost copper color. Quickly fading white head. Aroma is old and damp. Flavor starts as a strong sausage with a hint of earth. Turning into a mild but quite long smoked wood plus a tiny hint of burnt sugar. Palate is fairly light, oily with sharp bubbles. Overall feelings: Basic watery finnish lager with a fake smoke aroma, not real smoked malts. What do you expect from the countrys biggest brewery trying to please the masses.

(Bottled) Deep golden with a medium head and some lace. Aroma of lightly roasted, sweetish and grainy malt, much like in Olvi Jouluolut, but also some slight smoked ham notes. Smoke aroma is clearly evident in the reasonably malty flavor, but feels different than when real smoked malts are used. Presents slight cardboard notes, and the aftertaste feels like artificial sweeteners had been used. Medium-bodied, not watery, but sharp carbonation makes it feel thinner than it actually is. A bit hard to judge, but at least not an epic fail.

Draught@Kitty’s, Helsinki. Amber colour, cute white foamy head. Aroma is mainly cooked vegetables, some bready malts as well as mild hints of hops. Flavour is leathery, smoked wood and some slight sweetish (burnt sugar?) notes.

330ml bottle. If I say that this is macro brewery try for smoked beer boom, you can pretty much guess what’s coming. It has some charasterics of smoked beer, but all flattened and watered down. Color is deep copper, pretty nice looking. Didn’t notice any smoke on the aroma, mostly sweet malts aroma. Flavor was like taking your standard lager adding 1/4th of smoked beer to it. So it’s like lager with a very small hint of smoke in it. Not exactly bad beer, just uncharacteristic

(Bottle on 2009-01-14) Darkish golden. Clear. Small white head. Smells like wet used woolen socks, yuck. Medium bodied and quite dry palate with medium carbonation. Hint of smoke, bitterness and malts in watery taste. Mild bitter aftertaste. Sad attempt to brew a smoked beer.

Draught at Old Bricks Inn, Jyväskylä. Pale amber color with quickly vanishing head. Malty, toffeish and caramelly aroma with hints of tarry smoke. Sweet, toffeish and caramelly flavor with evident but restrained tarry smoke. There is also hints of tart alcohol typical for European strong lagers. There is too much caramelly roundedness and the smokiness is simple but this is better than the standard range from this brewery. I could drink this again.
