Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Timo. Clear amber golden with a dense white head. Sulphurous with fat Bamberg smoke in the nose. Medium body, some caramel, a little sulphur and very distinct smoke accents - a little burned rubber perhaps. Lightly bitter finish. But not bad at all. 090609

33 cL bottle, courtesy of Papsoe. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Light earthy, cornish and vague caramelish aroma with a distinct smoke note. Solid smoked flavoured, mild citrusy and sweet too. Ends with a lingering mix of sweetness and smoke.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Clear bronze colour, small head. Light smokey sausage aroma. Fairly sweet with rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Balanced beechwood smoke flavour, initially reminiscent pf Spezial Rauchbier, bat lacking the more subtle details of said beer. Still surprisingly pleasing for a Carlsberg brewed beer, and definitely a beer that I could spend an evening with.

[ Trade by oh6gdx ]. Clear light to medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white grey head. Aroma is moderate malty, keller, light smoke - rubber. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090626]

Bottle, 6.0%. OK smoky aroma. Grey amber colour. Very small white head. The flavour is OK smoky. Distinct, but well-balanced smoke note. Thin mouthfeel, but OK for the style. The finish is a little dry. OK effort, but not quite a brilliant smoked.

Draught@Kitty’s, Helsinki. Amber colour, cute white foamy head. Aroma is mainly cooked vegetables, some bready malts as well as mild hints of hops. Flavour is leathery, smoked wood and some slight sweetish (burnt sugar?) notes.

Bottled. Smoked lager brewed from starch with smoke aroma? Brewery says: "...smoke comes from natural smoke flavor, which is produced by burning hickory wood" - so real smoke malts have not been used. Korpisavu is amber colored, a bit golden. White quickly vanishing head. Nose is not very promising: notes of wet wood and smoke, when beer warms up. This is mixed with strong lagers sweet, a bit fruity and alcoholic malty aroma. Flavor is very sweet. Sweeter than eg. Tosi Vahva Karhu or Karhu IVA. Sweetness is propably from starch, because it does not feel like apply fruityness of European strong lagers but is more like from candied water. And yes, there is some smoke too, but just to justify this to be named as a smoked beer. Smokeness is mostly present in the short watery finish. Watery lager has also some cardboardish and grainy maltyness. Alcohol is quite well hidden.
