Commercial Description:
New very strong Karjala IVB is a warming doppel bock like beer, in which there is softness and taste of Karjala beer. (I translated the description myself, so there probably are some language mistakes on it. Sorry!)

330ml bottle. Rated in a blind IVB tasting. Pale, thin head. Lagery, slightly alcoholic aroma. Smooth mouthfeel. Strong but mellow malty taste, a very quick "ooh, that’s nice". However it is very clearly and annoyingly alcoholic. The finish in particular is that of alcohol.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Clear golden, very brief head. Fizzy peach, boozy alcohol and syrup. Sticky and mellow with ill hidden alcohol contents. No bitterness.

500 ml can. Deep golden colour with a tall off-white head. Malty sweet clean aroma. Nicely balanced maltiness and hop bitterness. Strong alcohol presence, but most of it is well hidden between the hops and the malts. Surprisingly nice.

Can. Clear, golden beer with a small, white head. Hops, grains and malt in the aroma. Sweet and malty flavor, with hops and grains. Thin to medium mouthfeel. A strong lager, what else to say? (070213)

They say it’s a doppel bock style beer and to speak the truth, it’s not that bad. It’s quite sweet and surprisingly hoppy and doesn’t taste like alcohol as much as it could. Still the fact is, that drinking this just feels plain wrong and makes you feel like a drunkard.
