Shaker pint draft at the brewpub in downtown San Diego. Pour is a copper brown, clear with an off white smallish head. Aroma is nutty and a bit of floral grain malt all pretty faint. Taste is the nutty maltiness, followed by floral hops and a decent shot of diacetyl on the back. Didn’t detract too much. Palate is medium thin, clean and pretty drinkable. An OK alt.

Clear copper with a fizzy white head. Sweet malty light honey and bread aroma and taste.

On tap at Karl Strauss in Universal Studios LA. Pours a slightly hazy amber body with a big, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves lots of lacing. Faint nose of soft caramels, melons, nuts, a light citrus, and some smoked toffees. Flavor is balanced and even with a very smooth body. Caramels, nuts, chocolate toffees, prunes and melons, and a touch of citrus and a light roast. Finish is very smooth and mellow with a soft, toasted nut. Overall, an enjoyeable altbier. Nice mellowness with enough flavor to satisfy. Its nothing crazy or out of the ordinary, but well done.

A muted alt. Had at Universal City Location. Pours a copper brown color with a small white ring around the glass. Aroma is slightly malty with fruit, although the scent is not very powerful. Taste is extremely nutty with some sweet malts. Lively carbonation.

~Pours a brownish amber color. ~Very light scent, sweet maltiness. ~Light sweet malt taste, some honey possibly. ~Medium feel with dry bitter finish ~ This is a nice smooth beer. I like it. Could use some more oomph though. A bit weak in scent and taste.

On draft at Karl Strauss Universal City, 11/26/07. Agreeably dark brown (though kinda wrong for the style) with ruby highlights. Nicely carbonated. Aroma of smoke and roasted malt. Bitter at first, almost porter-like. Malty, thin. Aftertaste reminds of charcoal. Other than that, a clean finish. Hopless flavor profile. Drinkable but not outstanding in any way.
