Amber isn’t a great style for me, my wife likes it though, and I tryed it, abit sweet, but still hoppy enough for me to like, not bad at all, but just not my cup of tea, a decent beer for the style. Sampled from tap, Universal city.

Beer pours light amber with an egg white head that is retained. Aroma is restrained aroma of roasted malt. Flavor is malty with a bit of roastiness, a bit grainy. Reasonable carbonation. Not bad for a lager.

Pours a nice light reddish bronze. tiny white head which goes by by real fast. Good complex malts for a lager. Good girlie beer.

Bottle. Pours to a nice amber/bronze body with a thin white head. Decent lacing. The aroma is floral hops with torrified grains. The flavor is lightly hoppy toffee with a light "original" bubblegum. The palate is medium-light bodied, over carbonated, and is lightly metallic. Not a beer I’d get again.

This is one of my favorite ambers to drink.....if I wanna get hammerd. I had a keg of this beer for super bowl, and it was awsome. A very easy beer to drink. It had enough flavor for the guys, yet easy for the girls to take down.

Draught at Karl Strauss La Jolla: Ruby color, nose of raspberry and some diacetyl. Flavor is tart and sweet with fruit, odd. Finishes sulfuric, way fruity for a lager.

This was my first Karl Strauss while visiting my son in Oceanside, CA. The color was a clear amber with a frothy head that was white. The rich taste of spices and malt were ballanced with a slightly sweet finish. This was similar to many of the Yuenlings I have enjoyed on the East coast. This is an easy drinking beer that would be satisfying anytime.

(Draught) Pours a dark amber body with moderate off-white head. Aroma of toaste malt, caramel, and florals. Flavor of caramel, malt, and light citrus.
