(11/2/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in downtown San Diego. Clear amber color. Aroma of malt, a bit of diacetyl and fruity notes. Sweet malty flavor with some toasted bread notes, a bit of caramel and light buttery hints. Finishes drier. Fluffy mouthfeel with lively carbonation.

Tap at Carlsbad. Pours a translucent copper with little to no head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, lightly spicy hop notes, cereal grains and nuts. Flavor of the same. Light hop bitterness.

On tap at The Spaghetti Factory. Nice looking amber color. Aroma of caramel, bread, and grain. Flavor was basically the same. Subtle sweetness, with not much hopping. Pretty nondescript, and not a whole lot of flavor. Ok

Aroma of sweet malt and some subtle hops. Obviously amber in color. Grocery store beer is sometimes awful - this isn’t, but it isn’t fantastic either. Malty and sweet, with just a touch of pine in the hops. Drinkable?

Tap at La Jolla location. Amber coloured beer. Lightly grainy aroma. A touch of toast but little else. Clean finish, low hopping, Meh... pretty boring brew, really.

Bright clear amber, moderate white head. Caramel aroma and flavour are the dominant personality here, pretty simple, easy to drink, clean finish.
